Yesterday, we ended with Job 22:28 (AMP) You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light will shine upon your ways.
We know now that we must decide what we want, we must make up our minds. To take that decision is an act of faith, it is walking on water. Once we’ve decided what we want, our life will be bathed with light. The light of God’s favour will shine upon our ways.
When you know what you want it allows the light of God to shine upon your way. If you cannot decide, don’t know what it is you want, are in doubt, and have no direction, no GPS, it is impossible for God to allow His light to shine because there is no pathway. Not knowing where you are heading, you have not yet decided on the path you are to take, and therefore no direction and light to shine on it. Indecisiveness is a sign of doubt and God only moves where there is faith. Faith is the light switch of God’s light upon our ways.
Here are various translations of Proverbs 11:14 that declares (ESV) Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. And (AMP) Where there is no guidance, the people fall , But in the abundance of counselors there is victory. And (MSG) Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.
Clearly, where there is no guidance or direction, we quickly go off course.
Proverbs 16:9 (ESV) The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. And in (MSG) it reads: We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.
When we read this scripture, it seems to be clear that the key is for us to plan. We plan and God does the rest. We must know what we want. For many years now, we have a specific theme for each year in our assembly. It is amazing that every time we plan the way and God makes it possible for us to walk into it, to live it.
Psalm 25:12 (ESV) Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
Amazing that God will instruct us the way that we should choose, thus it is clear that what we want, is to be obedient to God. He instructs us the way that we should choose; thus God instructs us, and we decide to follow His instruction.
I mentioned yesterday that I doubted this year could be the best year ever. The Spirit of God instructed me that this can be the best year ever, and the moment I chose to obey, He instantly provided the pathway. Once God provided the what, He will also guide us through the how.
Today, I conclude with John 16:13 (ESV) When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
