Hebrews 11:6(NKJV) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Here God gives mankind a very clear, logical motive to seek Him diligently - a reward. What does ‘diligently seek Him’ means?
To seek God is to forsake, deny, go out of self, and take Him alone for your ruler and satisfying portion.
To seek Him diligently is to seek Him early - Proverbs 8:17(AMP) I love those who love me; And those who seek me early and diligently will find me.
Seek God whole-heartedly - Psalm 119:10(NKJV) With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
Seeking God earnestly - Psalm 27:4(NKJV) One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.
God cries out to us - Isaiah 65:1-3(NLT) The LORD says, “I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help. I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation that did not call on my name. All day long I opened my arms to a rebellious people. But they follow their own evil paths and their own crooked schemes. All day long they insult me to my face by worshiping idols in their sacred gardens. They burn incense on pagan altars.
God cries out daily: ‘Here I am! Here I am!’ and no one is looking for him.
Psalm 63:1(NKJV) O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.
Psalm 63:6(NKJV) When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.
Colossians 3:1-2(NKJV) If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Seek God’s presence by faith - Hebrews 11:1(AMP) Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen .
Psalm 145:18-19(AMP) The LORD is near to all who call on Him, To all who call on Him in truth (without guile). He will fulfill the desire of those who fear and worship Him ; He also will hear their cry and will save them.
I conclude with: “If you're sincerely seeking God, God will make His existence evident to you.” - William Lane Craig
