3 April 2023 - Wait on the Lord with expectation

After we pray, we expect that God will answer our prayer.

Psalm 5:3 (NLT) Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.

Psalm 85:8 (AMP) I will hear what God the LORD will say, For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones—But let them not turn again to folly.

Proverbs 24:13-14 (AMP) My son, eat honey, because it is good, And the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is for your life and soul; If you find wisdom, then there will be a future and a reward, And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.

“Your expectation is God’s wisdom for determining the level of your success. Your expectation is the honey of life. It is your mental scriptural picture of your desire. Without your expectation, there cannot be any manifestation of what you want. Your expectation is what sets the pace for your possession; it is what sets the pace for your distinction; it sets the pace for your destination. In the journey of life, it is what you expect that you experience. It is your expectation that brings about your position in the world.” - David Ibiyeomie

There is power in expectation. Mark 11:24 (AMP) For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer , believe that you have received them, and they will be given to you.

We should always pray with the expectation that we will receive what we have asked for. If that was not the case, why would we bother to ask anything from God?

Acts 3:1-5 (AMP) Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour (3:00 p.m.), and a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried along, whom they used to set down every day at that gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, so that he could beg alms from those entering the temple. So when he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking for coins. But Peter, along with John, stared at him intently and said, “Look at us!” And the man began to pay attention to them, eagerly expecting to receive something from them.

To be hopeless is to be helpless, so choose to have great expectations. What you don’t expect, you are not likely to experience or receive. So, if you want to see results, have an expectation that God can and will do the impossible.

I conclude with Psalm 62:5 (NKJV) My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.
